When you call the clinic after hours and weekends your call is answered by Ka Ora, who will help you to access medical services, either by having a telehealth consultation with a Ka Ora Doctor if you wish, or if you are needing hands-on or emergency care Ka Ora will call the local nurses Kathryn Conradson in Franz, or myself.
During this summer we have had a number of emergency callouts with St Johns – the fabulous volunteer crew are spread far and thin and on occasions there is no crew to attend. If you are thinking about volunteering for St Johns please contact them soon, as we are a bit short in our Fox and Franz team and it takes a while to be able to drive that ambulance!
Covid primary vaccines and boosters are available at the Clinic – anyone who is chronically unwell over 30 yrs is eligible, but not within 6 months of having covid or having the last booster. We have the Pfizer Comirnaty JN.1, to cover new variants.
There have been a number of Covid infections in South Westland in the last few weeks – it is a good thing to continue to test for covid if you have any symptoms, and that by doing this and being careful you help protect those in the community who are vulnerable. The covid tests are free and available from the clinic.
